Cost Effective Studded Blouse

Since starting my job at New look I've been ever so tempted to buy almost everything they sell! I seem to want to spend more than I earn. I may be working in retail but creative juices are always flowing. It was last week a woman returned a studded collar chiffon blouse. It was £28.99 and I was so tempted. But instead I used my initiative. I bought a plain cream chiffon blouse and a spiky bracelet, all from New look, which came up to a lot less than the other blouse!

I cut the elastic holding the spiky bracelet together and used the sets of three spikes to start sewing to the collar. Just using white cotton I sewed through the stud several times to make it secure. I repeated the process until I was happy with the amount of studs there were on my blouse. The bracelet contained 15 rows of 3 studs. So I could have carried on but I was happy to have just the fronts. Finally I placed the blouse in the washing machine and put it on a low temperature, it was the perfect way to test the sturdiness of the studs. All came out fine so it was ready to wear.

In simple cost effective steps I managed to create my own one off blouse using basic high street items. The girls at work loved the look, and I'm certain I'll be doing different studding to different colours of chiffon in time!

Stay Fabulous!
